| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The effects of the current economy have manifested |
| 3 | | as hardships in several areas within our State government; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, The State of Illinois is faced with serious |
| 5 | | cutbacks and
budget reductions as a result of the many |
| 6 | | decreases in the States' bond
rating; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Our veterans from all wars have made many |
| 8 | | sacrifices
on our nation's behalf; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Our veterans deserve an affordable domicile to |
| 10 | | live out the
balance of their lives with some measure of |
| 11 | | dignity; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, It is our responsibility to pass legislation that |
| 13 | | would protect the current and future
veterans homes in Illinois |
| 14 | | from all forms of cutbacks and shutdowns; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 16 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 17 | | urge the introduction of
legislation by the Illinois General |
| 18 | | Assembly known as "The Illinois Veterans Homes Protection Act", |
| 19 | | which would
establish or amend provisions of the Illinois |
| 20 | | statutes that will guarantee
the protection of all 4 current |
