HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of George 
4Albert Michalic of West Frankfort, who passed away on February 
515, 2015; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, George Michalic was born in Littleton, 
7Pennsylvania on June 4, 1918 to Joseph and Josephine (nee 
8Cwiakala) Michalic; he married Agnes Mekota in West Frankfort 
9on June 27, 1953; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, George Michalic was a longtime member of St John 
11The Baptist Parish in West Frankfort and  a St. John's trustee 
12and member of the Building Committee; he was also a member of 
13the Civilian Conservation Corps, a World War II Navy veteran, 
14and a Pearl Harbor survivor; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, George Michalic enjoyed hunting and fishing; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, George Michalic was preceded in death by his 
17parents; his brother, Andy Michalic; and his sisters, Rose 
18Paluch and Mary Shannon; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, George Michalic is survived by his wife, Agnes; 
20his son, Mark (Vivian) Michalic; and several nieces and

1nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4mourn the passing of George Albert Michalic, and extend our 
5sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew 
6and loved him; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of George Michalic as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
