HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to honor Ed Bannon as he steps down as 
4Executive Director of the Six Corners Association; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The Six Corners Association has been working to 
6transform Six Corners, once the premier shopping district 
7outside of the Loop, into an arts and culture mecca in an 
8effort to reverse decades of decline and to fill empty 
9storefronts; and
  
 
  
10    WHEREAS, Ed Bannon helped set-up the Six Corners Special 
11Service Area, which levies a tax on businesses to pay for 
12economic development initiatives such as beautification 
13projects and marketing efforts; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Ed Bannon's efforts  helped bring new life to the 
15once-glamorous shopping district and is a huge part of why 20 
16new businesses opened at Six Corners in 2014; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
19honor Ed Bannon as he steps down as Executive Director of the 
20Six Corners Association and wish him the best in all his future 
21endeavors; and be it further
