| 3 | | Representatives wish to honor Jessie Ann Foley of Jefferson |
| 4 | | Park on her book, "The Carnival at Bray", being named as one of |
| 5 | | the best books written for young adults by the American Library |
| 6 | | Association; and

| 7 | | WHEREAS, This is the first book written by Jessie Foley, an |
| 8 | | English teacher at Taft High School; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, "The Carnival at Bray" won the 2014 Helen Sheehan |
| 10 | | Young Adult Book prize and was picked to launch Elephant Rock |
| 11 | | Books' new young adult imprint; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 13 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 14 | | honor Jessie Ann Foley on her book, "The Carnival at Bray", |
| 15 | | being named as one of the best books written for young adults |
| 16 | | by the American Library Association; and be it further

| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 18 | | presented to Jessie Foley as an expression of our esteem and |
| 19 | | respect.
