| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark W. |
| 4 | | Anderson of Chicago, who passed away on March 2, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mark Anderson was born in Chicago on December 11, |
| 6 | | 1963; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Mark Anderson worked at several jobs, including |
| 8 | | one at a travel agency that introduced him to various portions |
| 9 | | of the European continent, before finding his place as a |
| 10 | | financial writer at Morningstar in 1997, bringing a creative |
| 11 | | verve to a dry topic; he graduated from Columbia College with a |
| 12 | | Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 2003; he is best known as a |
| 13 | | writer for NBC's Ward Room, and, through his writing and |
| 14 | | activism, he played significant roles in the elections of at |
| 15 | | least one Chicago alderman and a member of the Illinois House |
| 16 | | of Representatives; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Mark Anderson was both a student and teacher of |
| 18 | | Chicago history and tavern culture, and a lover in equal |
| 19 | | measure of rock, jazz, and moments of quiet reflection; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Mark Anderson is survived by his wife, Sarah, and |
| 21 | | several acts of journalism that reverberate to this day; |
