HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mark W. 
4Anderson of Chicago, who passed away on March 2, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Anderson was born in Chicago on December 11, 
61963; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Mark Anderson worked at several jobs, including 
8one at a travel agency that introduced him to various portions 
9of the European continent, before finding his place as a 
10financial writer at Morningstar in 1997, bringing a creative 
11verve to a dry topic; he graduated from Columbia College with a 
12Bachelor of Arts  in Journalism in 2003; he is best known as a 
13writer for NBC's Ward Room, and, through his writing and 
14activism, he played significant roles in the elections of at 
15least one Chicago alderman and a member of the Illinois House 
16of Representatives; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Mark Anderson was both a student and teacher of 
18Chicago history and tavern culture, and a lover in equal 
19measure of rock, jazz, and moments of quiet reflection; and
  
 
  
20    WHEREAS, Mark Anderson is survived by his wife, Sarah, and 
21several acts of journalism that reverberate to this day;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4mourn the passing of Mark W. Anderson, and extend our sincere 
5condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
6him; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Mark Anderson as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
