HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Adrienne 
4L. Stanley of Chicago, who passed away on March 4, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Adrienne Stanley was born on September 11, 1963; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Adrienne Stanley began working for the Chicago 
8Police Department in 1990; she was promoted to Sergeant in 
91996, to Lieutenant in 2000, and to Commander in 2001; she was 
10always encouraging of her subordinates and dedicated much of 
11her time to mentoring and tutoring them; she was a member of 
12the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives 
13(NOBLE); and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Adrienne Stanley was a strong  advocate of women's 
15rights; she co-founded The Diamond in the Rough organization 
16that mentored at-risk teenage girls; she was a member of 
17Friends of the Park and orchestrated many fund raisers for the 
18United Negro College Fund; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Adrienne Stanley was an animal lover; she was very 
20generous and enjoyed giving gifts to her family and friends; 
21she was adamant about donating her car to the 'cars for kids'

1program after her passing; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Adrienne Stanley loved helping others and 
3completed her studies toward becoming an inspirational life 
4coach; she also loved all that the City of Chicago had to offer 
5and was often seen walking her dog, Prairie Lisa Stanley, 
6throughout the city; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9mourn the passing of Adrienne L. Stanley, and extend our 
10sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew 
11and loved her; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the family of Adrienne Stanley as an expression of 
14our deepest sympathy.
