HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4Rochester High School girls basketball team on the occasion of 
5making it to the Class 3A State Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Rochester Rockets were defeated by the Morton 
7Potters in a hard-fought battle after a terrific season; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The team finished the season with an impressive 
933-3 record and was ranked 5th in the State heading into the 
10championship; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, In the postseason semifinals game, they beat the 
12Bogan Bengals 63-60 after a close 4th quarter; a long 3-pointer 
13and free throws in the last 2 minutes and 13 seconds enabled 
14them to advance to the championship; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The championship game started off strong for the 
16Lady Rockets, who were leading 23-16 at halftime; the Rockets 
17had a double-digit lead in the third quarter, but the Potters 
18went on a 14-0 run and that momentum carried them to the end; 
19the final score was 47-37; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, This was the 3rd girls State Championship game in

1Rochester's history; and
 
2    WHEREAS, The hard-working members of the Rochester girls 
3basketball team are Havilyn Dulin, Kylie Clemens, Lyric Boone, 
4Aubrey Magro, Jadyn Zaffiri, Maddie Unser, Nicole Robinson, 
5Sydney Lett, Laryn Sapetti, Meagan McNicholas, Lucy Nuding, 
6Sarni Kearney, Faithe Pitts, Madison Faulkner, and Angela 
7Perry; head coach J.R. Boudouris has led the Rochester girls 
8basketball team for 4 years; the assistant coaches are Lindsay 
9Howard, Brandon Rose, and Ken Teubner; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
12congratulate the members of the Rochester Rockets girls 
13basketball team for making it to the Class 3A State 
14Championship and wish them many more years of success to come; 
15and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to the Rochester Rockets girls basketball team as an 
18expression of our esteem and respect.
