HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Richard and Carolyn 
4Stubblefield of Mt. Vernon on winning the Epilepsy Foundation 
5of Greater Southern Illinois (EFGSI) Volunteer in Excellence 
6Award; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, There are approximately 11,000 residents in 
8greater Southern Illinois that suffer from seizure disorders, 
9and the EFGSI exists to stop seizures and Sudden Unexpected 
10Death in Epilepsy, find a cure, and overcome the challenges 
11created by epilepsy through efforts including education, 
12advocacy, and research to accelerate ideas into therapies; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, The Stubblefields have devoted their lives to 
14helping those with epilepsy and seeing an end to epilepsy 
15forever; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The Stubblefields are instrumental in awarding a 
17$2,000 scholarship, the Sara Stubblefield Scholarship, each 
18year for an Illinois resident with epilepsy; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Stubblefields will receive their award at the 
20EFGSI's annual gala on April 18, 2015 at Bellecourt Manor in 
21Belleville in honor of their dedicated work to the people of

1Jefferson County and Southern Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4congratulate Richard and Carolyn Stubblefield on winning the 
5Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Southern Illinois Volunteer in 
6Excellence Award; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the Stubblefields as an expression of our esteem 
9and respect.
