HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Jessica Buckner on the 
4occasion of her retirement as a member of the School District 
5151 Board after 15 years of dedicated service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner was appointed to the School 
7District 151 Board in November of 2000 after serving in many 
8positions in School District 151 since 1968; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, During her 15 years on the Board, Jessica Buckner 
10served as president for 4 years and served as chair of the 
11Goals Committee and Policy Committee; she also served on the 
12Building Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Personnel 
13and Awards Committee; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner was a member of the Strategic 
15Planning Committee since its inception; the Strategic Planning 
16Committee was instrumental in updating and expanding many 
17facilities, including the Barack Obama Learning Center - a 
18partnership facility library attached to Coolidge Middle 
19School; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner served as a mentor for many new 
21Board members and represented the Board at the monthly South

1Holland Business Association meetings for many years; she also 
2attended all school programs faithfully and also represented 
3the Village of Phoenix at many functions and events; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner was honored by School District 151 
5with the dedication of the Jessica Buckner Administration 
6Center in recognition of her service to the District; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Jessica Buckner has served as a dedicated and 
8tireless servant to the parents and students of School District 
9151 for 47 years; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
12congratulate Jessica Buckner on the occasion of her retirement 
13and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and 
14be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Jessica Buckner as a symbol of our esteem and 
17respect.
