HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Carver James of Dakota Junior & Senior High School on winning the 2015 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 1A 170-Pound State Wrestling Championship; and

WHEREAS, Carver James compiled a season record of 29 wins and zero losses on his way to his third State championship; in 2012, he placed third at State in his division; in both 2013 and 2014, he won the championship in the 152-Pound Division; and

WHEREAS, Carver James has spent all 4 years of his high school career wrestling and previously wrestled in the junior wrestling program, The Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation; and

WHEREAS, Carver James wrestles 11 months out of the year and has had the opportunity to travel all over the country due to his success in wrestling; he has been a member of several All-State Illinois dual teams and has competed in numerous states, including Indiana, Michigan, and Virginia; in 2013, he competed in the USA Folkstyle; and

WHEREAS, Carver James maintains a 3.5 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society; in addition, he has served on the Student Council since the 7th Grade; in his free time, he enjoys attending area county fair concerts, working out, and fishing; and

WHEREAS, In the fall, Carver James plans to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he will continue wrestling and will major in business; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Carver James on winning the 2015 Illinois High School Association Class 1A 170-Pound State Wrestling Championship; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Carver James as an expression of our esteem and respect.
