HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Tolono Fire 
4Protection District on the occasion of the opening of its new 
5fire station; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The new fire station is located on North Bourne 
7Street in Tolono; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Construction began on the new fire station in 
9August of 2014 and was completed in January of 2015; it was 
10built without State or federal funding and replaced an older 
11station that had been in use for 60 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The new fire station is more than double the size 
13of the old station and should serve the district for decades to 
14come; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Tolono Fire Department was formed in 1888 and 
16became a fire protection district in 1995; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, A public dedication ceremony and open house will 
18be held on March 29, 2015; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
2congratulate the Tolono Fire Protection District on the opening 
3of its new fire station; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the Tolono Fire Protection District as an 
6expression of our esteem and respect.
