HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to recognize  Matt McLemore for his 
4many  contributions to the City of Taylorville and its 
5surrounding communities; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Matt McLemore was born in 1955 in Decatur; he 
7graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1973; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Shortly after graduation, Matt McLemore moved to 
9California, where he took speech classes at Pasadena City 
10College and became a graduate of the L.A. Broadcasters School; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Matt McLemore came back to his home state to begin 
13working as the news director for WTIM 96.3 FM and 870 AM in 
141990; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, In 1992, Matt McLemore assumed the role of host of 
16the WTIM Morning Show, steadfastly waking up at 4 AM and 
17arriving at the radio station by 5 AM every weekday; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, As host of the WTIM Morning Show, Matt McLemore 
19has conducted thousands of local interviews, Swap Shop 
20programs, Open Line discussions, and remotes, as well as

1anchoring election night coverage for the station; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Matt McLemore has been heard on the entire 
3Taylorville cluster of Miller Media Group radio stations; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Matt McLemore often brings a note of levity to his 
5programs, from telling amusing stories to calling listeners pet 
6names, such as the "Volks Folks" or referring to a group of 
7area women as the "lovely and talented ladies at Taylorville 
8Memorial Hospital"; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Listeners say that Matt McLemore always does a 
10great job helping them start the day on a positive note; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Matt McLemore has been with WTIM in Taylorville 
12for 25 years and is now retiring; he is being honored with 
13"Matt McLemore Day" on April 2, 2015 on Taylorville's WTIM, 
14marking his last day with the company; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
16NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
17recognize Matt McLemore for his daily contributions to the 
18community of Taylorville and its surrounding communities and 
19wish him further success and fulfilment in his future 
20endeavors; and be it further
