2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
3 | Representatives wish to congratulate William Michael Caldwell, | ||||||
4 | Jr. on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout on March 15, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, William Caldwell, Jr. started off in New Faith Cub | ||||||
6 | Scout Pack 120 at the age of 7 and later
became part of Boy | ||||||
7 | Scout Troop 120 in March of 2008; while in Troop 120, he
has | ||||||
8 | held most of the troop positions from Senior Patrol Leader to | ||||||
9 | Assistant Patrol
Leader; during his Scouting career, he has | ||||||
10 | attended many national events in
scouting, such as the 2012 | ||||||
11 | National Order of the Arrow Conference and the 2013
Nation | ||||||
12 | Scout Jamboree; he will be attending the 2015 National Order of | ||||||
13 | the
Arrow Conference, which marks the 100th Anniversary of the | ||||||
14 | Order of the Arrow; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, William Caldwell, Jr. was inducted into the Order | ||||||
16 | of the Arrow by election of his peers in 2010; he became a | ||||||
17 | Brotherhood member in 2011 and a Vigil member in 2013, the
| ||||||
18 | highest honor in the Order of the Arrow; he was recognized by | ||||||
19 | his peers by becoming first
Chapter Chief, and later Vice-Chief | ||||||
20 | of Chapters; he is currently the Lodge Chief for
Michigamea | ||||||
21 | Lodge #110; and
| ||||||
22 | WHEREAS, William Caldwell, Jr.'s Eagle Scout Project was a |
| |||||||
| |||||||
1 | clothing drive for the students in Elementary
School District | ||||||
2 | #159; when the project
was done, 30 students received a gift | ||||||
3 | bag full of clothes; and | ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, William Caldwell, Jr. has earned numerous merit | ||||||
5 | badges throughout his time as a Scout, and has advanced through | ||||||
6 | the ranks as a Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, | ||||||
7 | Star, Life, Eagle Board of Review, and finally to the Eagle | ||||||
8 | Court of Honor; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, In his community, William Caldwell, Jr. has served | ||||||
10 | as assistant basketball coach for Woodgate
Elementary School | ||||||
11 | for the past 6 years and as a Matteson Police cadet for the | ||||||
12 | past 4 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, William Caldwell, Jr. will be graduating from Rich | ||||||
14 | South Campus High School in Richton Park, where he was chief | ||||||
15 | editor for the student newspaper, a National Honor Society | ||||||
16 | Member, a National Society of High School Scholars member, a | ||||||
17 | S.T.E.M. student, a student ambassador, and a representative | ||||||
18 | for student council; he received the Outstanding Student Award | ||||||
19 | during his junior year of school; he will be attending the | ||||||
20 | University of Missouri-Columbia in the fall and studying | ||||||
21 | atmospheric science with plans to become a meteorologist; | ||||||
22 | therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
2 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
3 | congratulate William Michael Caldwell, Jr. on achieving the | ||||||
4 | rank of Eagle Scout and wish him the best in all his future | ||||||
5 | endeavors; and be it further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to William Caldwell, Jr. as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | esteem and respect.
