HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate John A. Logan College 
4men's basketball coach Kyle Smithpeters on being selected as 
5the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association "Coach of the Year" 
6for the 2014-15 season; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Coach Smithpeters led his team, the Volunteers, to 
8a 2014-15 season record of 27 wins and 7 losses; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Volunteers won the Great Rivers  Athletic 
10Conference and the Region 24 and District 16 championships; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Volunteers made their second trip to the 
12National Junior College  Athletic Association national 
13tournament - the first since 1995; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Coach Smithpeters has complied a career record of 
1565 wins and 30 losses in his time helming the Volunteers; 
16therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
19congratulate John A. Logan College men's basketball coach Kyle 
20Smithpeters on being selected as the Illinois Basketball

1Coaches Association "Coach of the Year" for the 2014-15 season 
2and we wish him many more successful years; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
