| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | | BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 3 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 4 | | urge community college districts to waive 50% of the tuition |
| 5 | | and other necessary fees of teachers licensed under Article 21B |
| 6 | | of the School Code who are employed by a school district within |
| 7 | | an area designated as a poverty area by the Department of |
| 8 | | Commerce and Economic Opportunity and who are enrolled in a |
| 9 | | community college program to obtain additional course credit or |
| 10 | | an additional degree; and be it further

| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a community college district may condition |
| 12 | | the partial tuition and fee waiver on the teacher agreeing to |
| 13 | | teach for an additional number of years in the school district |
| 14 | | in which he or she was employed at the time of the waiver; and |
| 15 | | be it further
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be |
| 17 | | delivered to the Illinois Community College Board and all |
| 18 | | community college districts in this State.
