HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the St. Joseph High School 
4boys basketball team, the Chargers, on winning the 2015 
5Illinois High School Association Class 3A Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Chargers claimed the championship by 
7defeating Belleville Althoff Catholic High School 67 to 63 at 
8Carver Arena in Peoria on March 21, 2015; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Chargers last made it to the State finals 
10during the 1998-99 season when they also won the State 
11championship; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Chargers compiled a record of 29 wins and 6 
13losses on their way to the championship; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Chargers are helmed by legendary coach Gene 
15Pingatore, who recorded win number 962 during the championship 
16game; therefore, be it
  
 
  
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
19congratulate the St. Joseph High School boys basketball team, 
20the Chargers, on winning the 2015 Illinois High School

1Association Class 3A Championship and wish them many more years 
2of success; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the Chargers as an expression of our esteem and
