HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Penny Guerrieri on the 
4occasion of her retirement from St. John Brebeuf School; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Penny Guerrieri joined St. John Brebeuf Parish in 
61969; she began her teaching career 25 years ago as a 3rd grade 
7teacher and, after several years, began teaching 8th graders; 
8and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Penny Guerrieri taught English, Social Studies, 
10and Shakespeare, but her dedication goes well beyond just 
11teaching; she is actively involved with the GLADD program and 
12the Catholic Women's Club; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Penny Guerrieri received the Sheila Harrington 
14Award in honor of her service to the St. John Brebeuf 
15community; she has also been named the Woman of the Year by the 
16Catholic Women's Club, the Heart of the School by the 
17Archdiocese of Chicago, and Teacher of the Year by the Niles 
18Night of Roses; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Penny Guerrieri enjoys cooking, hosting parties, 
20and spending time with her family; and

1    WHEREAS, Penny Guerrieri and her husband, John, have 6 
2children, Karen, Jeana, Matthew, Joy, Daniel, and Anthony - all 
3who were full-time students at St. John Brebeuf School; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate Penny Guerrieri on her retirement from St. John 
8Brebeuf School and we wish her the best in all her future 
9endeavors; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Penny Guerrieri as an expression of our esteem and 
12respect.
