| 2 | | WHEREAS, Each day, individuals step forward to help care |
| 3 | | for family members in need; across the State, parents and |
| 4 | | children,
siblings and spouses, and friends and neighbors |
| 5 | | heroically give of themselves to support those in their lives
|
| 6 | | who have been affected by illness, injury, or disability; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, In the United States, more than 60 million |
| 8 | | caregivers provide strength and assistance to their
family |
| 9 | | members, and as the number of older Americans rises, so will |
| 10 | | the number of caregivers; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Many of
these dedicated people work full-time and |
| 12 | | raise children of their own while also caring for the needs of |
| 13 | | their
loved ones; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Caregivers support the independence of their |
| 15 | | family members and enable them to more fully
participate in |
| 16 | | their communities; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 | | recognize the assistance and sacrifice that family caregivers |
| 20 | | provide to enable people who are affected by illness, injury, |
| 21 | | or disability to help them lead more independent lives; and be |
