| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Fannie |
| 4 | | Mae Brisco-Melvin Rayford; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Fannie Rayford was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi |
| 6 | | on November 13, 1942 to Charlie and Laura Brisco; she graduated
|
| 7 | | from Rose A. Temple High School; she relocated to Aurora, where |
| 8 | | she met and was united in marriage to Thomas Melvin,
Sr.; she |
| 9 | | later met
George Rayford in 1970 and they were united in |
| 10 | | marriage 1982; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Fannie Rayford retired from Furnas Electric in |
| 12 | | 2005; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Fannie Rayford was a
member of Progressive Baptist |
| 14 | | Church, where she was very
active in the choir and various |
| 15 | | committees; in 1998, she
joined New Community Baptist Church |
| 16 | | and became its First Lady
under the leadership of her husband, |
| 17 | | Servant George Rayford; she was ordained as an Evangelist in |
| 18 | | June of 2007; she enjoyed life to the
fullest; she loved to |
| 19 | | cook and share a good laugh and was an avid
card player; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Fannie Rayford is survived by her husband of over |
| 21 | | 44 years,
Servant George Rayford; her daughter, Debra (Ronnie); |

| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 14 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 15 | | mourn the passing of Fannie Mae Brisco-Melvin Rayford, and |
| 16 | | extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all |
| 17 | | who knew and loved her; and be it further

| 18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 | | presented to the family of Fannie Rayford as an expression of |
| 20 | | our deepest sympathy.
