HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Francis Stanley "Frank"
4Kaminsky, III on being named the men's 2015 National College
5Player of the Year; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Frank Kaminsky was born in Lisle on April 4, 1993
7to Frank and Mary Kaminsky; he attended Benet Academy, where he
8was named First-Team All-State by the Chicago Sun-Times and the
9Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and Second-Team
10All-State by the Associated Press; he was also named All-Area,
11All-Conference, and East Suburban Catholic Conference Player
12of the Year; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Frank Kaminsky is a senior power forward
14basketball player for the Wisconsin Badgers, sporting No. 44;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Frank Kaminsky and the Badgers reached the Final
17Four during the 2013-2014 season; in the 2014-2015 season they
18reached the NCAA championship game by eliminating previously
19unbeaten, #1 ranked Kentucky, only to fall to Duke in a tight
20game; and
 
21    WHEREAS, During Frank Kaminsky's senior season, he was

1named Consensus First-Team All-American; he was also named the
2National Association of Basketball Coaches Player of the Year
3and the Associated Press College Basketball Player of the Year;
4he was awarded the Oscar Robertson Trophy as the United States
5Basketball Writers Association College Player of the Year, the
6Naismith College Player of the Year award, the John R. Wooden
7Award, and the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Kaminsky currently holds the Wisconsin
10single-game record for points with 43; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
12NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
13congratulate Francis Stanley "Frank" Kaminsky, III on being
14named the men's 2015 National College Player of the Year; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to Frank Kaminsky as an expression of our esteem and
18respect.
