HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate William J. Swanston on the 
4occasion of his retirement after 34 years of service to Downers 
5Grove Township; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, William Swanston has been a resident of the 
7Village of Westmont since 1968; he was first elected to the 
8Downers Grove Township Board in 1981; previously, he served as 
9Treasurer for Westmont for 4 years and on the Westmont Plan 
10Commission for 3 years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, William Swanston currently serves with the 
12executive recruiting firm Edwards, Swanston & Fox; he is the 
13Treasurer of the Westmont Lions Club; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, William Swanston has 6 children - 4 boys and 2 
15girls, and 11 grandchildren;  he was born in 1935 on the South 
16Side of Chicago; he is of Irish heritage and is a Chicago White 
17Sox fan; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, A celebration dinner will be held in William 
19Swanston's honor at Papa Passero's Sports Bar & Restaurant in 
20Westmont on June 4, 2015; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate William J. Swanston on his retirement after 34 
4years of service to Downers Grove Township and wish him the 
5best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to William Swanston as an expression of our esteem 
8and respect.
