HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Franklin Hospital on its 
460th anniversary of serving Franklin County and Southern 
5Illinois; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Franklin Hospital opened in April of 1955 and has 
7provided quality care for residents
of Franklin County in both 
8primary and emergency situations since its opening; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Franklin Hospital has survived and prospered in 
10times of financial hardships and,
through strong leadership and 
11community support, continues to expand and create new

12opportunities in health and regional development; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Franklin Hospital plays an important role in the 
14economy of Southern Illinois by
employing more than 200 people 
15and generating nearly $40 million in revenue; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Franklin Hospital has brought many important 
17businesses and health practitioners to
Franklin County, 
18allowing medical care to remain close for patients; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The health providers and staff of Franklin 
20Hospital have been dedicated to their  patients and the

1community for over 60 years; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, After more than 60 years of providing health care 
3and services to the region and saving
countless lives, Franklin 
4Hospital continues to serve the people of Illinois in times of 
5need and
truly embodies its slogan of "Quality Healthcare, 
6Close to Home"; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9congratulate Franklin Hospital on its 60th anniversary and wish 
10it many more successful years; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Franklin Hospital as an
expression of our esteem 
13and respect.
