| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Mindy McMahon on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of her retirement as principal of Madison School in | ||||||
| 5 | District 181 after 23 years; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Mindy McMahon has been the principal at Madison | ||||||
| 7 | School since 1992; from 1991 to 1992, she held an | ||||||
| 8 | Administrative Internship in District 181;
from 1989 to 1992, | ||||||
| 9 | she was the District K-8 Social Studies Curriculum Coordinator | ||||||
| 10 | for District 181;
from 1986 to 1989, she was the District | ||||||
| 11 | Gifted Coordinator for grades 3-5 in District 108 Highland | ||||||
| 12 | Park;
from 1985 to 1986, she was the fifth grade teacher at | ||||||
| 13 | Braeside Elementary in District 108 Highland Park;
from 1984 to | ||||||
| 14 | 1985, she was the Learning Disabilities Teacher and Reading | ||||||
| 15 | Specialist in District 108 Highland
Park; from 1980 to 1984, | ||||||
| 16 | she was the fourth grade teacher at Montrose Elementary in | ||||||
| 17 | Bexley, Ohio;
and from 1979 to 1980, she was a kindergarten | ||||||
| 18 | teacher at Jasper Elementary in Jeffersonville, Ohio; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, During Mindy McMahon's tenure, the United States | ||||||
| 20 | Department of Education presented Madison School with the Blue | ||||||
| 21 | Ribbon Award; in 2014, Betterschools.org listed Madison School | ||||||
| 22 | as one of the Top 50 Public Elementary Schools in the U.S.; in | ||||||
| 23 | 2014, the Illinois Association for Health, Physical Education, | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Recreation and Dance named Madison School as a Blue Ribbon | ||||||
| 2 | School; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Mindy McMahon earned her Bachelor of Science in | ||||||
| 4 | Elementary Education from Ohio State University in 1979, her | ||||||
| 5 | Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Ohio State | ||||||
| 6 | University in 1983, her Certificate of Advanced Study in | ||||||
| 7 | Curriculum and Instruction from the National College of | ||||||
| 8 | Education in Evanston in 1988, and her Doctoral Studies in | ||||||
| 9 | Instructional Leadership at National Louis University in 1989; | ||||||
| 10 | and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Mindy McMahon has worked with the Illinois | ||||||
| 12 | Principals Association, the Midwest Principals Center, Inc., | ||||||
| 13 | and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum | ||||||
| 14 | Development; she is a member of
Phi Delta Kappan; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Mindy McMahon and her husband, Jim, have 2 | ||||||
| 16 | children, Paige and Davis; she is a Church Elder for Personnel | ||||||
| 17 | and Worship and a Sunday school teacher; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 19 | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 20 | congratulate Mindy McMahon on the occasion of her retirement as | ||||||
| 21 | principal of Madison School in District 181 after 23 years; and | ||||||
| 22 | be it further
