HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Carmel 
4Catholic Corsairs girls soccer team on the occasion of winning 
5the 2015 IHSA Class 2A State Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, After defeating the Lemont Indians in the Class 2A 
7semi-final, the Corsairs defeated the Chatham Glenwood Titans 
81-0 to win the IHSA Class 2A Championship game at North Central 
9College in Naperville on June 6, 2015; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The team finished its first season competing at 
11the 2A level with a spectacular 21-4-3 record after many years 
12of competing in Class 3A; prior to the 2-1 semi-final victory, 
13the team outscored their first 5 postseason opponents by an 
14outstanding 25-0; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The members of the Carmel Catholic Corsairs are 
16Emma Kobitter, Erin Johnston, Alyssa Cepon, Grace Nolan, 
17Abigail Potter, Mary Beth, Mandi Lasso, Jennifer Doyle, 
18Madeline Lombardo, MacKenzie Sheehan, Kayla Handel, Lily 
19Sykes, McKenzie Runyan, Megan Runyan, Lisa Harwardt, Sophia 
20Sarkis, Angela Salvi, Christina O'Block, Haley Miller, and 
21Rachel Bierman; the team's head coach is John Halloran; and

1    WHEREAS, The members of the Carmel Catholic Corsairs serve 
2as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the 
3people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate the members of the Carmel Catholic Corsairs girls 
7soccer team on the occasion of winning the 2015 IHSA Class 2A 
8State Championship and wish them continued success and 
9happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the Carmel Catholic Corsairs girls soccer team as 
12a symbol of our esteem and respect.
