HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Resolutions express consensus of criticism or 
3support on social issues, legal rights, court opinions, and 
4even decisions by the Executive Branch; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The students of the Chicago Vocational Career 
6Academy in Chicago have expressed their opinions on various 
7measures that should be undertaken by the State of Illinois; 
8and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Chicago Vocational Career Academy's Class of 
102015 has expressed their belief that the State should guarantee 
11free tuition at Illinois public universities for all students 
12with a 3.0 GPA and a minimum score of 19 on the ACT; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Chicago Vocational Career Academy's Class of 
142016 has expressed their belief that the State should provide 
15bus pick-up service for all residents in centralized areas; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The Chicago Vocational Career Academy's Class of 
172017 has expressed their belief that the State should require 
18members of a community who are age 16 or older to be hired 
19first when businesses open in their communities; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, The Chicago Vocational Career Academy's Class of

12018 has expressed their belief that the State should provide 
2bus passes for all students to get to and from school during 
3school hours; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6urge the Governor and the members of the General Assembly to 
7take the aforementioned suggestions into consideration and to 
8pass legislation that would address these concerns; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the Chicago Vocational Career Academy as a symbol 
12of our esteem and respect.
