| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Captain Michael J. |
| 4 | | Wheeler on the occasion of his retirement from the Park Forest |
| 5 | | Fire Department after nearly 38 years of service; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Cpt. Wheeler began his career with the Park Forest |
| 7 | | Fire Department on December 26, 1977; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Cpt. Wheeler was a champion |
| 9 | | of fire safety, spending years educating the community to help |
| 10 | | them be as safe as possible; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Cpt. Wheeler has been recognized by the National |
| 12 | | Fire Safety Council, the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, and the |
| 13 | | Suburban B'nai B'rith Council; he received firefighter of the |
| 14 | | year awards from multiple agencies and was twice recognized by |
| 15 | | the Chicago Association of Commerce and Industry as the Class 2 |
| 16 | | First Place winner as part of their fire prevention contest; |
| 17 | | and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Cpt. Wheeler's lifetime of dedication to the |
| 19 | | citizens of Forest Park was recognized by the Park Forest |
| 20 | | Historical Society in 2008 when he was inducted into the Park |
| 21 | | Forest Hall of Fame; and
