HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Robert Chapman Buckley, Jr. on the occasion of his retirement from the Chicago Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr. has over 30 years of public service experience with law enforcement as an Intergovernmental Affairs Coordinator, policy analyst, supervising attorney, and trial attorney; and

WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr. joined the Chicago Police Department in December of 1999 with the Office of the Superintendent's Office of Legal Affairs; prior to that, from June of 1998 to December of 1999, he worked for the Office of the Mayor, and, from May of 1985 to June of 1998, he worked for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office; and

WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr. taught at Northwestern University School of Law as an Adjunct Professor of Law, Advanced Trial Advocacy, from 1995 through 1999; while there, he was the Trial Team Coach, helping his team become National Trial Team Champions; he was a member of the American Bar Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers; he has participated in numerous professional training programs and courses designed to further his law enforcement knowledge; and

WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr. received his Juris Doctor from the DePaul University College of Law in 1985 and his Bachelor of Science in Business (Finance) in 1981; he was admitted to the Illinois Bar on May 9, 1985; and

WHEREAS, Robert Buckley, Jr.'s retirement will be official on June 30, 2015; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Robert Chapman Buckley, Jr. on his retirement from the Chicago Police Department and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Robert Buckley, Jr. as an expression of our esteem and respect.
