| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Robert "Bob" Elliott on |
| 4 | | the occasion of his retirement as a Commander of the Illinois |
| 5 | | State Police; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Robert Elliott joined Illinois State Police Cadet |
| 7 | | Class 85 on September 18, 1989; he graduated on February 2, |
| 8 | | 1990 and was assigned to Illinois State Police District 7; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Robert Elliott was transferred to the Illinois |
| 10 | | State Police Division of Administration Research and |
| 11 | | Development Bureau on August 1, 1996; he was promoted to the |
| 12 | | rank of Sergeant on November 16, 1996 and the rank of Master |
| 13 | | Sergeant on June 1, 1998; on May 16, 1999, he was transferred |
| 14 | | to the Human Resource Command at the Illinois State Police |
| 15 | | Academy; on July 16, 1999, he was transferred to District 14 |
| 16 | | Patrol; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Robert Elliott was selected to be Acting Captain |
| 18 | | of District 14 on January 1, 2002; he was promoted to the rank |
| 19 | | of Lieutenant on July 1, 2002 and the rank of Captain on |
| 20 | | October 1, 2005; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Robert Elliott was commissioned in the Illinois |

| 1 | | National Guard as a second lieutenant from the Western Illinois |
| 2 | | University ROTC program in 1988; he was promoted to the rank of |
| 3 | | first lieutenant in 1991, the rank of captain in 1996, and the |
| 4 | | rank of major in 2002; he retired from the National Guard in |
| 5 | | 2008; during his 20 years of service, he served in Poland in |
| 6 | | 1997, trained in Honduras, assisted with flood duty in 1993, |
| 7 | | and volunteered for a tour in Iraq in 2004 and 2005; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Elliott served as a mentor for a graduate |
| 9 | | of Lincoln's Challenge Academy, a cadet in the Illinois State |
| 10 | | Police Academy, and a trooper in the Illinois State Police |
| 11 | | mentoring program; he has donated blood since college and is a |
| 12 | | regular donor, having donated 7 pints in the last 7 years; he |
| 13 | | has also participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the |
| 14 | | last 15 years; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Robert Elliott and his wife of 27 years, Michelle, |
| 16 | | have 3 children, Robert Elliott, II, Kari Elliott, and Brian |
| 17 | | Elliott; therefore, be it
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 19 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 20 | | congratulate Robert "Bob" Elliott on the occasion of his |
| 21 | | retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the |
| 22 | | future; and be it further
