| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Sergeant Keith Walthall |
| 4 | | on the occasion of his retirement from the Chicago Police |
| 5 | | Department on July 15, 2015; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Walthall served as a Sergeant and supervisor |
| 7 | | for the Chicago Police Department officers assigned to the |
| 8 | | Office of the Mayor and the Chicago City Council; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Walthall began his career with the Chicago |
| 10 | | Police Department as a patrolman in 1985, serving the 5th |
| 11 | | District; he then moved to the 22nd District, where he ran one |
| 12 | | of the most successful youth Explorer's program in the city; in |
| 13 | | 1998, he was selected to Mayor Richard M. Daley's personal |
| 14 | | security detail; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Walthall is a role model for the young women |
| 16 | | and men in the City of Chicago, such as his son, Michael, who |
| 17 | | has proudly followed his father's path and serves as an officer |
| 18 | | in the Chicago Police Department, and his grandson, Jaylen |
| 19 | | Walthall; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Walthall has served for over 30 years with |
| 21 | | distinction, loyalty, and the admiration and respect of his |
