HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Melrose Park Dirt Divas Little League softball team on the occasion of winning the Little League Illinois State Division championship on July 20, 2015; and

WHEREAS, The 2015 Melrose Park Dirt Divas represented the State of Illinois in the Junior League division of the regional tournament; the team had an impressive and overall undefeated record of 29 wins and 0 losses, including an undefeated run in the district, sectionals, and winning the Illinois championship title; and

WHEREAS, This occasion marks the second time that the Melrose Park Dirt Divas have won the Little League State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Melrose Park Dirt Divas, Alyssa Stramaglia, Andrea Fuentes, Caitlin Kruse, Cassandra Lee, Cristina Anguiano, Giselle Vasquez, Kassandra Perez, Kirsten Polen, Melissa Gonzalez, and Samantha Richardson, showed tremendous dedication and sportsmanship throughout the season toward the goal of winning the Little League Illinois State championship; and

WHEREAS, The Melrose Park team was managed by Tony Fuentes and coached by Kevin Polen, Amanda Bernal, and Ashley Richardson, who all demonstrated professionalism and respect for their players and the game of softball; and

WHEREAS, The Melrose Park Dirt Divas fans showed enthusiasm, support, and courtesy for the game of softball and all the players and coaches; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Melrose Park Dirt Divas Little League softball team on the occasion of winning the Little League Illinois State Division championship and wish the players and coaches continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Melrose Park Dirt Divas as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
