HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Donald Trump is currently the frontrunner in the 
3race for the Republican nomination for President of the United 
4States in the 2016 election; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Trump has repeatedly made misogynistic, 
6sexist, and derogatory comments towards women; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Donald Trump has repeatedly made offensive and 
8abhorrent comments towards people of Latino descent,  Mexican 
9immigrants, and Asians; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Donald Trump is attempting to secure the 
11Republican nomination by demeaning entire groups of people; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Republican Party has failed to publicly 
13denounce Donald Trump for his insulting comments; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Ignoring Donald Trump in hopes that he will just 
15fade away is not an adequate response to his inexcusable 
16behavior; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
19call upon the Republican Party to publicly denounce Donald

1Trump for his disgraceful behavior and to distance itself from 
2him in the future; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
4delivered to the United States Senate Majority Leader, Mitch 
5McConnell, the Speaker of the United States House of 
6Representatives, John Boehner, the Chairman of the Republican 
7National Committee, Reince Priebus, and all Republican members 
8of the Illinois Congressional Delegation.
