HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Illinois native 
4and country music recording artist Brett Eldredge on the 
5release of his new album, "Illinois"; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Brett Eldredge was born and raised in Paris, 
7Illinois; his parents are Robin and Christopher Eldredge; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Brett Eldredge attended Elmhurst College in 
9Elmhurst; after visiting Nashville to see his cousin perform, 
10he transferred to Tennessee State University where he studied 
11country music vocalists such as George Jones, Ray Price, and 
12Vince Gill; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Brett Eldredge co-wrote "I Think I've Had Enough" 
14with country music artist Gary Allan; in 2010, he released his 
15first single, "Raymond", which debuted at Number 52 on the Hot 
16Country Songs chart for the week ending October 16, 2010; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Brett Eldredge has had 3 Number 1 singles from his 
182013 debut album "Bring You Back": "Don't Ya", "Beat of the 
19Music", and "Mean to Me"; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, On September 11, 2015, Brett Eldredge released a

1new album, titled "Illinois", which includes the song 
2"Illinois"; according to Mr. Eldredge, the song is meant to 
3capture the essence of what home really means; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate Brett Eldredge on the release of his new album, 
7"Illinois", and honor him for his success in the world of 
8country music and his strong connection to the State of 
9Illinois; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Brett Eldredge as a symbol of our admiration and 
12respect for all of his success in country music and for his 
13contributions to the State of Illinois.
