HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the 26th Annual Black & Gold 
4Scholarship Gala presented by the Theta Mu Lambda Charitable 
5Foundation, a not-for-profit entity of the
Theta Mu Lambda 
6Chapter - Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, This event raises funds in order to continue 
8providing educational resources and scholarships for
young 
9African American students to expand their scholastic 
10opportunities; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Alpha Phi Alpha firmly believes in creating 
12resources, leadership skills, and tools for
youth to realize 
13their full potential and is dedicated to building a
foundation 
14for the educational and personal development of future leaders; 
15and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, This year's program theme is "Honoring The Success 
17of Our Youth"; 4 community leaders will be honored with the 
18Impact Award for their work with
youth and 4 young people will 
19be honored with the Rising Star Award; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, The gala will be held
on November 21, 2015 at the 
21Tinley Park Convention Center; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3recognize the 26th Annual Black & Gold Scholarship Gala and we 
4wish them many more years of success; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation as an 
7expression of our esteem and respect.
