HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Kim Thomas on being 
4selected as a finalist for Illinois Teacher of the Year; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Kim Thomas teaches 8th grade math at the Woodruff 
6Career and Technical Center in  Peoria School District 150; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Kim Thomas has been teaching for 23 years; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Kim Thomas recently won District 150's Don Phares 
9Award for outstanding teacher; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Kim Thomas works to make her lessons fun for 
11everyone and even has a theme song for her class; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Illinois Teacher of the Year will be named at 
13the Those Who Excel banquet in Normal on October 17, 2015; 
14therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
16NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
17congratulate Kim Thomas on being selected as a finalist for 
18Illinois Teacher of the Year, and we thank her for her 
19commitment to education; and be it further
