HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the 40th anniversary of the 
4founding of Aurora Actionaires; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Aurora Actionaires was organized in 1975 by Martha 
6M. Hickling, Caroline Johnson, and Donna J. Williams as a 
7social organization with an eye for
serving the community; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Aurora Actionaires has since shifted to a more 
9service-focused group; its motto, "We Care ... We Act ... We 
10Serve"; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Aurora Actionaires awards scholarships to Aurora 
12High School students who are pursuing
higher education; since 
132010, the group has awarded 74 scholarships and book awards; 
14additionally, its members help seniors, the needy, and youth by 
15volunteering at community projects as need occurs; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Aurora Actionaires will hold its sole annual 
17fundraiser on November 14, 2015; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
19NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
20recognize the 40th anniversary of the founding of Aurora

1Actionaires and we wish the group many more years of service to 
2the community; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to Aurora Actionaires as an expression of our esteem 
5and respect.
