HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate James Thomas Pioth of Oak 
4Forest on the occasion of his induction into the Senior 
5Illinois Hall of Fame; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Senior Illinois Hall of Fame was initiated by 
7the General Assembly in 1994 to commemorate the achievements 
8and contributions of
citizens age 65 or older; inductees are 
9selected through a statewide nomination and judging process; 
10the program targets candidates in the
areas of community 
11service, education, the work force, and the 
12graphic/performance arts; 98 people have been inducted into the 
13Hall, including the 2015 inductees; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, James Pioth has worked close to 50 years for the 
15Oak Forest Fire Department; he started out as a junior 
16firefighter and soon became a full-time firefighter; early in 
17his career, he found a strong interest in the fire 
18investigation unit; he was a founding member of the fire 
19investigation team and was instrumental in establishing a 
20yearly investigative training program; he is a decorated 
21firefighter who continues to contribute to the Oak Forest Fire 
22Department and serve the residents of Oak Forest; and

1    WHEREAS, Each year,  winners are inducted into the Senior 
2Illinois Hall of Fame during a special ceremony; therefore, be 
3it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate James Thomas Pioth of Oak Forest on his induction 
7into the Senior Illinois Hall of Fame; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to James Pioth as an expression of our esteem and 
10respect.
