HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Robert A. Saddler, M.Ed., Ed.D., of Chicago on the occasion of his induction into the Senior Illinois Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, The Senior Illinois Hall of Fame was initiated by the General Assembly in 1994 to commemorate the achievements and contributions of citizens age 65 or older; inductees are selected through a statewide nomination and judging process; the program targets candidates in the areas of community service, education, the work force, and the graphic/performance arts; 98 people have been inducted into the Hall, including the 2015 inductees; and

WHEREAS, For nearly 60 years, Dr. Saddler has gone above and beyond to build a foundation of educational success for Chicago youth; he holds a doctorate in Education Leadership and supports several educational programs aimed at improving the lives of students and preparing them for college; he recently began a mentoring program for young men in 7th and 8th grade to provide moral support and academic guidance; through various volunteer initiatives, he continues to instill his passion for education and commitment to helping students achieve success; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Saddler is the 2015 inductee in the Education category; and

WHEREAS, Each year, winners are inducted into the Senior Illinois Hall of Fame during a special ceremony; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Robert A. Saddler, M.Ed., Ed.D., on his induction into the Senior Illinois Hall of Fame; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Saddler as an expression of our esteem and respect.
