HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Arcola High School 
4Purple Riders on winning the 2015 Illinois High School 
5Association (IHSA) Class 1A State Championship in football; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, This is the Purple Rider's 4th Class 1A State 
7Championship; they previously won the championship in 1978, 
81985, and 1988; they finished 2nd in 1977, 1991, and 1995; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, On their way to the championship, the Purple 
10Riders outscored opponents 714, the third most points in IHSA 
11history, to 78; they had a running clock against 12 of their 14 
12opponents; averaged 51 points per game, 7th most in IHSA 
13history; scored 97 touchdowns, 3rd most in IHSA history, with 
1466 of those being rushing touchdowns, 7th most in IHSA history; 
15and intercepted the ball 29 times, 8th most in IHSA history; 
16they had 5,396 yards of offense on the season and held 
17opponents to 1,329 yards; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, The Purple Riders have the 3rd most wins in 
19football in the State; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, The Purple Riders are Conner Strader, Clayton 
21Strader, Parker Ingram, Kollin Seaman, Martin Rund, Daniel

11Chad Hopkins, Jarod Kiger, and John Lidy; therefore, be it
  
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
13NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
14congratulate the Arcola High School Purple Riders on winning 
15the 2015 Illinois High School Association Class 1A State 
16Championship in football and we wish them many more years of 
17success; and be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented the Purple Riders as an expression of our esteem and 
20respect.
