HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to hear of the passing of Antoine
4D. "Tony" Haddad of Peoria and wish to honor his life and pay
5tribute to an icon of the community; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Tony Haddad was born on May 12, 1937 in Lebanon;
7his parents were Dikran and Marie (nee Sabou) Haddad; he
8emigrated from Lebanon to the United States in 1977 with his
9wife, Loreece, his children, and his mother-in-law; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Tony Haddad was the determined and hard-working
11business owner of Haddad's Restaurant on Main Street; he also
12ran a pushcart outside of the Peoria County Courthouse, which
13has been visited by many people in the area; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Tony Haddad was an active member of the community
15who was known for his loving attitude and gracious generosity;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Tony Haddad's passing has been felt throughout the
18area from people who had a chance to meet this outstanding
19gentleman; they will remember his great food and great
20personality for many years to come; and

1    WHEREAS, Tony Haddad is survived by his wife, Loreece; his
2sons, John (Jill) Haddad, Gabe (Nidal) Haddad, Joseph (Giselle)
3Haddad, and Nicola (Shirley) Haddad; his daughters, Marie
4Batrouni and Rita (Andrew) Speck; his 18 grandchildren; and his
55 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
8mourn the passing of Antoine D. "Tony" Haddad and extend our
9sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all of those
10who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Tony Haddad as an expression of our
13respect and deepest sympathies.
