| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of both |
| 4 | | the Lewistown Central girls seventh grade basketball team and |
| 5 | | the Lewistown Central girls eighth grade basketball team on |
| 6 | | their Illinois Elementary School Association Class 2A State |
| 7 | | titles; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, The Lewistown Central seventh grade team finished |
| 9 | | their State championship season with an impressive record of |
| 10 | | 24-4; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The Lewistown Central eighth grade team finished |
| 12 | | their State championship season with an undefeated record of |
| 13 | | 28-0, with no opponents coming within 10 points of the team all |
| 14 | | season long; this team finished in second place the previous |
| 15 | | season as seventh graders and had a junior high record of 54-2; |
| 16 | | and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, This is an impressive achievement for Lewistown |
| 18 | | Central girls athletics; only a few times in IESA basketball |
| 19 | | history have both the seventh and eighth grade teams from the |
| 20 | | same school earned State titles; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Lewistown girls athletics have won 4 State titles |
|

| 1 | | in 2015, including volleyball and track and field crowns; and
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Lewistown Central seventh grade |
| 3 | | basketball team are Lydia Cripe, Brenna Clark, Raquel Frakes, |
| 4 | | Haley Lansford, Kate Heffren, Macy Mikulich, Odessa Grove, |
| 5 | | Avery Smith, and Addison Yurkovich; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Lewistown Central eighth grade |
| 7 | | basketball team are Cortney Hopkins, Carli Heffren, Anna |
| 8 | | Heffren, Raquel Frakes, Kate Heffren, Sydney Shaeffer, Chloe |
| 9 | | Hickle, Alex Ebert, Kennedy Mayberry, Libby Hopkins, Avery |
| 10 | | Smith, and Kaeli Spotloe; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, These teams are led by head coach and athletic |
| 12 | | director Mitch Conway; the assistant coaches are Rachel Row and |
| 13 | | Delanie Monn and the managers are Karissa Duncan, Josey Moore, |
| 14 | | and Sydnee Duffield; the school's principal is Clay Ginglen; |
| 15 | | the Assistant Superintendent is Richard Well and the |
| 16 | | Superintendent is Jeanne Davis; therefore, be it

| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 | | NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 | | congratulate the members of the Lewistown Central girls seventh |
| 20 | | grade and eighth grade basketball teams on their Illinois |
| 21 | | Elementary School Association Class 2A State titles and wish |
| 22 | | them many more years of success in the future; and be it |
