HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James L. 
4Hooten of Marion, who passed away on December 4, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Hooten was born in Fort Madison, Iowa on 
6August 15, 1924 to James M. and Verine (nee Peterman) Hooten; 
7he married Letta Mae on October 19, 1946; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, James Hooten served in the United States Marine 
9Corps during World War II in the South Pacific; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, James Hooten enjoyed spending time with his family 
11and friends; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, James Hooten was preceded in death by his wife, 
13Letta Mae; his parents; his infant son, Leroy; and his brother, 
14Robert; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, James Hooten is survived by his children,

Leanne 
16(Ralph) Thompson, Dianne (Greg) Segers, Michael  James (Monina) 
17Hooten, Roxanne (John) Powers, and Kimberly (Mark) Bondzinski; 
18several grandchildren; and a plethora of great and 
19great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3mourn the passing of James L. Hooten, and extend our sincere 
4condolences to his  family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
5him; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  James Hooten as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
