| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Carl |
| 4 | | Schrimpf of Round Lake Beach; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl Schrimpf and his wife, Yvonne, moved to the |
| 6 | | small village of Round Lake Beach in 1953; from then, he worked |
| 7 | | tirelessly to grow the village, leading efforts to attract new |
| 8 | | businesses, which spurred development of other commercial and |
| 9 | | residential areas; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Carl Schrimpf served as Round Lake Beach Village |
| 11 | | President for 5 terms, totaling 20 years, ending in 1993; prior |
| 12 | | to becoming Village President, he served 2 terms as a Village |
| 13 | | Trustee and 4 years as Police Magistrate; he also served on the |
| 14 | | Avon Center School Board and as an Avon Township Trustee; he is |
| 15 | | remembered as a trailblazer, devoted to civic matters and to |
| 16 | | making positive changes; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Carl Schrimpf was a design engineer by trade; he |
| 18 | | worked for over 30 years for Hough-International Harvester; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Carl Schrimpf is survived by his wife of 64 years, |
| 20 | | Yvonne; his son, Marty; his 2 daughters, Karen and Koral; his |
| 21 | | 10 grandchildren; and his 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, |
