HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate and celebrate 19th 
4Circuit Judge George Bridges on the occasion of his retirement 
5on January 25, 2016; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges has been on the bench since 
7March of 1995; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges earned a bachelor's degree 
9with honors in 1982 from National Lewis University in Evanston 
10and received his law degree in 1987 from Chicago-Kent College 
11of Law; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges served as Chief of the 
13Waukegan Police Department before being appointed to serve as 
14an Associate Judge; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges was appointed Circuit Judge 
16in 2006; he also served as a Lake County Assistant State's 
17Attorney; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges serves as an adjunct 
19instructor for the Columbia College of Missouri and the College 
20of Lake County; he is also a co-chair of the Illinois Supreme

1Court Seminar Series Committee and a member of the Supreme 
2Court Committee on Education; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Judge George Bridges will retire to pursue other 
4interests after proudly serving in the 19th Judicial Circuit 
5for more than 20 years; his knowledge, wisdom, trial expertise, 
6and management skills will be difficult to replace and he will 
7truly be missed; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
10thank and congratulate 19th Circuit Court Judge George Bridges 
11for his many years of service and wish him all the best in his 
12future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Judge George Bridges as an expression of our 
15congratulations and appreciation for a job well done.
