HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Union County Conservation 
4Police Officer Steve Vasicek on being named Conservation Police 
5Officer of the Year by the Illinois Department of Natural 
6Resources; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Officer Vasicek is a 15-year veteran of the 
8conservation police; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Officer Vasicek takes part in wildlife code 
10arrests, spotlighters, and over-the-limit in waterfowl; he 
11also  takes part in educational activities, including youth 
12waterfowl days, and has worked with the National Wild Turkey 
13Federation; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Officer Vasicek was part of the capture of the 
15suspect wanted in the double murder committed in conjunction 
16with the Cairo bank robbery; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Officer Vasicek is a native of Downers Grove; he 
18attended Southern Illinois University and was initially 
19assigned as a conservation officer to the Peoria area, but 
20transferred to Southern Illinois when he had the opportunity;

1    WHEREAS, Officer Vasicek's philosophy as a police officer 
2is "do your job, but treat people with respect"; therefore, be 
3it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6congratulate Union County Conservation Police Officer Steve 
7Vasicek on being named Conservation Police Officer of the Year 
8by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Officer Vasicek as an expression of our esteem and 
12respect.
