HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Career and technical education is a valuable 
3learning opportunity offered in most high schools, area career 
4and technical centers, community and technical colleges, and 
5other post-secondary institutions throughout the State of 
6Illinois; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Career and technical education strives to develop 
8confident and creative builders of their own future by 
9preparing students to select viable career paths and obtain the 
10training and skills essential for continuing education and a 
11successful future; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Career and technical education provides students 
13with leadership opportunities in various fields and allows them 
14to experience real-world practical and technical application 
15of reading, writing, and mathematical skills; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Career and technical education provides students 
17with work-based learning experiences and soft-skills training; 
18and

  
 
19    WHEREAS, During the month of February, we encourage both 
20youth and adults in the State of Illinois to learn more about 
21career and technical education in order to recognize the

1significance to ensure Illinois students are well prepared for 
2secondary education and a career; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5designate February of 2016 as "Career and Technical Education 
6Month" in the State of Illinois.
