HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Pleasant 
4Plains 8th Grade Girls' Basketball Team on their remarkable 
52014-2015 season; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In the State championship game on December 17, 
72015, the Cardinals of Pleasant Plains faced off against the 
8Panthers of St. Joseph; the Cardinals came out pumped up and 
9ready to play and got out to a quick lead in the first quarter; 
10and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Caroline Jachino dropped in 7 points in the first 
12quarter for the Cardinals and helped them build a formidable 
13lead; both teams played great defense in the second quarter; in 
14the third quarter, it was Jachino who again sparked the 
15offensive run of the Cardinals with 9 points; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The Cardinals closed out the victory with a score 
17of 40-26 and finished their season with a 23-3 record; and

  
 
18    WHEREAS, The Pleasant Plains 8th Grade Girls' Basketball 
19Team won the State Championship and is considered a model for 
20success, setting team records and showing strong moral 
21character; and

1    WHEREAS, The members of the Cardinals are Beni Harmony,

McKayla Ragle,
Ali Fraase,
Macy Kanllakan,

3MacKenzie Houser,
Maddie Reiser,
Heidi Hergenrother,
Anna 
4Kanllakan,
Emily Long,
Jessica Cameron, and
McKenna Wise; the 
5coaches are Sarah Wood and Kim Nehrt; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8congratulate the members of the Pleasant Plains 8th Grade 
9Girls' Basketball Team on its successful 2014-2015 season and 
10State Championship victory, and wish them great success in the 
11future; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the Pleasant Plains 8th Grade Girls' Basketball 
14Team as well as their coaches as a symbol of our esteem and 
15respect.
