HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Virginia Smith of 
4Ava on being named the 2016 Miss Rodeo Illinois; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Virginia Smith was crowned Miss Rodeo Illinois on 
6January 17, 2016 at the World Shooting Complex's Seasons Event 
7Center in Sparta; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Virginia Smith will be traveling to rodeo 
9competitions across the State and country as part of her 
10one-year reign as Miss Rodeo Illinois 2016; currently, she is a 
11senior at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she is 
12majoring in agribusiness economics; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Virginia Smith is representing the Professional 
14Rodeo Cowboys Association, headquartered in Colorado Springs, 
15Colorado, the world's largest and oldest rodeo-sanctioning 
16body; and

  
 
17    WHEREAS, In addition to appearing at rodeo events across 
18the country, Virginia Smith will be competing for the title of 
19Miss Rodeo America at a week-long pageant in Las Vegas this 
20November; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate Virginia Smith on being named the 2016 Miss Rodeo 
4Illinois and wish her success at the Miss Rodeo America pageant 
5in Las Vegas later this year; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Virginia Smith with our sincerest esteem and 
8respect.
