HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Morton 
4High School Boys Golf Team on the occasion of their 
5unbelievably successful 2015 season; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The team finished 11-1 in dual matches and had a 
7list of 1st place finishes at the invitational tournaments, 
8including the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational, the Limestone 
9Invitational, the U-High Invitational, the Monmouth 
10Invitational, and the Mattoon Invitational; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Morton High School Boys Golf Team is a part of 
12the Mid-Illini Conference; in the regular season conference 
13matches, the team had an impressive record of 7-0 and ended 
14conference play by winning the Mid-Illini conference 
15tournament; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The Regional Tournament was held at Metamora 
17Fields, where the team won by 16 strokes; team members Pete 
18Kuhl and Tommy Kuhl tied for second place and Isaac Ingold had 
19a fourth place finish; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, The Sectional Tournament was held at Lincoln Elks, 
21where the team won by 13 strokes; Tommy Kuhl finished in third

1place and Pete Kuhl tied for fourth place; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, The State Tournament was held at Weibring Golf 
3Club in Normal; the team capped off its season with a victory, 
4winning by 23 strokes and resulting in their Boys 2A State Golf 
5Championship victory; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, All-State Golfer and Peoria Journal Star Golfer of 
7the Year, Pete Kuhl, finished in fifth place; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The Morton High School Boys Golf Team also won the 
92A State Championship in 2014; and
 
10    WHEREAS, The varsity team members are Pete Kuhl, Tommy 
11Kuhl, Isaac Ingold, Bobby Strode, Adam Christianson, Carter 
12LeRoy and Jack Zern; Jamie King has been the Morton High School 
13Boys Golf team head coach for 3 years; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The members of the Morton High School Boys Golf 
15Team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication 
16for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
18NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
19congratulate the members of the 2015 Morton High School Boys 
20Golf Team on the occasion of winning the Class 2A State Golf

2the future; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the Morton High School Boys Golf Team as a symbol 
5of our esteem and respect.
