| 2 | | WHEREAS, On August 11, 1916, the State of Illinois |
| 3 | | incorporated the Rosecrance Memorial Home for Children, an |
| 4 | | organization that cared for neglected and dependent children in |
| 5 | | New Milford; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, In an effort to expand the growing need for |
| 7 | | services, Rosecrance relocated to Rockford, where, in the first |
| 8 | | of many shifts to serve the changing needs of the community, it |
| 9 | | started serving youth with behavioral disorders; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Upon recognizing that teenagers were struggling |
| 11 | | with substance use, Rosecrance started a first of its kind |
| 12 | | chemical dependency treatment program in northern Illinois in |
| 13 | | 1982; the program began serving adults in 1992; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, In 2011, Rosecrance recognized the importance of |
| 15 | | integrating addiction and mental health treatment by merging |
| 16 | | with the Janet Wattles Center; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Today, Rosecrance provides help, hope, and |
| 18 | | recovery to more than 22,000 children, adolescents, adults, and |
| 19 | | families each year at more than 40 locations in Illinois and |
| 20 | | Wisconsin; and
