HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4Prospect Marching Knights on their acceptance to march in the 
52016 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Prospect Marching Knights were selected from 
7175 applicants as one of 10 bands to march in the 2016 edition 
8of the annual holiday spectacle; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is viewed by 
103.5 million live spectators and a television audience of 50 
11million; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Prospect Marching Knights are the only 
13Illinois high school marching band that will appear in the 2016 
14Parade; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The band receives tremendous support from their 
16parents and the wider community, led by the Prospect Band 
17Boosters; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, The members of the Prospect Marching Knights serve 
19as models of tenacity, integrity, and dedication for the 
20citizens of Illinois; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate the members of the Prospect Marching Knights on 
4the occasion of being accepted to march in the 2016 Macy's 
5Thanksgiving Day Parade and wish them continued success and 
6happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the Prospect Marching Knights as a symbol of our 
9esteem and respect.
